Mr. Gunnels represents a variety of stakeholders in the construction industry including facility owners, construction managers, designers, general contractors, subcontractors and performance and payment bond sureties.
This experience includes representation of clients in the public and private sectors and in Federal Government Contract cases in state and Federal courts, as well as in arbitration, mediation and cases before the Boards of Contract Appeals. Mr. Gunnels has provided timely and principled counsel to construction clients on projects ranging from airports, condominium and office buildings, student and multifamily housing to interstate and bridge construction and parking garages.
Mr. Gunnels also assists client with contract drafting, review and negotiations of large commercial and private construction projects, including multi-family residential, high-rise condominiums, office and industrial structures.
Mr. Gunnels is a frequent lecturer on construction topics including concurrent delay, subcontractor compliance, and efficient contract drafting.
Mr. Gunnels is the former Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association Construction Law Section and is involved in numerous professional organizations including the Georgia Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), and American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry.
Mr. Gunnels is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and is currently a JAG officer in the Georgia Army National Guard.
